My Story
Some questions change the direction of your entire life.
Mine was: Why do people hurt each other? That question became a doorway, and this work grew from walking through it.
I am a survivor of sexual assault. In its aftermath, that question became the compass that pointed me toward psychology, toward therapy, toward understanding the human capacity for both harm and healing.
The approaches I was taught were largely cognitive, focused on making sense of experience through the mind. And while that mattered, it wasn't enough. Because what I knew from the inside was that trauma doesn't only live in our thoughts. It lives in the body. In the slow, quiet disconnection from our sensuality and sexuality that we learn to call normal.
That knowing led me to a different way of working, one that honors the mind but refuses to stop there. One that listens to the body, holds space for sexuality without shame, and trusts that healing is possible even in the places that feel most broken.
Inspired by the art of kintsugi, I came to see that our wounds are not flaws to be hidden. They are the very places where we can be rebuilt with gold, where our cracks become part of our strength and our beauty.
After the atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima, six ginkgo trees survived the unthinkable, and bloomed the following spring. Not because survival is enough, but because what comes after survival can be extraordinary. That image lives in me. That is why KinTSou exists.
